Hans Lippershey, Sacharias Jansen, and Hans Jenssen discovered the initial compound microscope in the year 1590. They created it in The Netherlands.
At that time, all three were the manufacturers of eyeglass. About this same time, another eyeglass manufacturer from Holland, Hans Lippershey emerged with the identical thought and is also considered by some to be one of the discoverers.
The name microscope has been offered up by Giovanni Faber, who presented the name ‘microscope’ to the compound microscope founded by Galileo in the year 1625.
